Op-Ed from ProtectingAmerica.org Co-Chair Admiral James Loy in Washington Times Coinciding with the national launch of ProtectingAmerica.org, Admiral James Loy, co-chair of ProtectingAmerica.org, wrote in the Washington Times about the need for a national catastrophe management solution to cope with America's vulnerability, everywhere, to catastrophe. Following is an excerpt from 'When the next catastrophe strikes': | 'In addition to debating the government response and structure, we need to find private-sector solutions as well. We need comprehensive, integrated solutions at the local, state and federal levels that leverage the knowledge and expertise of the private sector in an effort to mitigate the potential damage during a catastrophic event and to ensure that adequate financial resources are available to lessen the economic consequences in catastrophe's aftermath.' |
